It hasn’t really become a household word in Israel yet, however, this supposedly “leaked” video from 2001 of Binyamin Netanyahu visiting the home of a settler in the “occupied” territories has single-handed brought out all the conspiratorial crowd looking for the proverbial smoking gun. The comments box for this video both here and at youtube is literally overflowing. The reason is simple: Netanyahu supposedly said something unprecedented – never before heard from an Israeli prime minister, which is that America can “easily be moved”, i.e., in the direction of being pro-Israel.
And the bottom line is that it is absolutely true. But the reason may surprise you. The military-industrial complex plays games. They make calculations. What if, how much would it take, what are the probable outcomes? This is nothing new, and Israel is not above it all and held to a different standard than all other countries. Everyone plays this game. It is a fact.
However, the one inescapable fact that no one wants to say – whether it is ignorance or just plain stupidity – is that the Palestinian Arabs brought on their own occupation during the Cold War. Because their leader, Yassir Arafat, sided with Moscow, the die was cast. It was a declaration of war. The Pals were working with the Russkies, and America, whether rightly or wrongly, decided to fight communism. Part of this effort was to encircle the Palestinians in order to keep Soviet influence away from them.
Now, however, maybe people have forgotten why the Palestinians have missed out on practically everything of value, all rising from one important tenet, which is self-respect. When you choose the wrong side in what is clearly and unmistakably a war, then chances are the future is not as bright as those who chose the right side. Perhaps this is what Netanyahu meant to say when discussing what the significance of the settlements is in the first place. Yes, they are undefined military outposts, and they are that way for a reason.
It’s time to set the record straight. This was bad PR gone awry. It came off as being cheap, pandering theater to settlers who get lost in the rhetoric of an us-against-them mentality. It’s not. It’s about who won the Cold War and who lost it. And by the way, may I add that while this epic battle for the territories was going on, a very minor price had been paid until the Soviet Union collapsed. After that, with no clear benefactor in sight, the Intifadas rose up. It wasn’t so much as a protest against Israeli occupation insofar as it was out of desperation for not having any friends to come to their aid. Don’t worry. They think they have found another friend in Tehran, however, the Palestinians are being played again because Tehran’s benefactor is the same one that landed them in hot water in the first place, which is Russia.
Let’s call this Netanyahugate for now. Maybe someone with a better recollection of history might be better adept at being prime minister and setting the record straight and telling it like it is. Netanyahu just seems to not be getting ahead of the PR game, which is intensely being employed, especially in old soviet ways by using modern technology. The right had better wake up and learn history and how this game works if they want to win hearts and minds.

Crank Up The Speakers: It’s The IAF In Action
By Cheesus | Filed in Cheesus Speaks | No comments yet.Lemons To Lemonade: It Is Time For Israel To End Its Policy Of Nuclear Ambiguity
By Cheesus | Filed in Cheesus Speaks | No comments yet.Honestly, I had chosen the title of this article to originally be Water to Wine rather than Lemons to Lemonade, however, here it is nonetheless. At long last, I, Cheesus of Nazareth, have come to save my people once and for all. Here’s the deal. It’s really simple. Listen up:
Who knows. Maybe Mordechai Vanunu was way ahead of his time. Maybe Vanunu is being held in Israel for a reason. Maybe Israel is using him as a proverbial punching bag as an excuse to leak out the fact that Israel is armed to the teeth with nukes, including hydrogen bombs, and will, I repeat will use them if necessary against any threat it deems to be a direct assault on its survival. Maybe the policy of ending nuclear ambiguity was planned as such. If not, then it certainly did work out that way, and anyway who knows – maybe it was long overdue.
Now, the problem is that the ambiguity in Iran’s nuclear program is also very much in play as well. Reports come and go about whether Iran in fact is inching toward a nuclear bomb. But if one looks carefully at the game that is really being played, what you might find is a whole different perspective.
The United States is currently dismantling all of its former alliances and rebuilding them. This is reflected in the overhaul taking place in military hardware. Advancements in military technology are being put into place while simultaneously the lapdog mainstream media casts an image of a weak and desperate situation. “All warfare is based on deception.” Sun Tzu.
There are now advanced anti-ballistic missile batteries in place around Israel, which came courtesy of US cooperation. In addition, advanced F-35 fighter aircraft are now replacing the aging F-16. Stealth capabilities in short-to-medium range payload deliveries to specific target packages elude sophisticated radar and satellite tracking. The threat of stealth nuclear delivery diminishes the effectiveness of any response by Iran.
Asymmetrical warfare involving disparate cells requires both surprise and overwhelming force. The introduction of nuclear weapons into the Middle East will only be done by the one power which will have to maintain that technological edge for at least a half-life of any of the larger world powers: The UK, the US, China, and Russia. For Israel, the days of waging war under the watchful eye of the world’s superpowers has changed. They must consider themselves as part of the nations whose global reach is unquestioned.
And so, dive right in, Israel. The water is warm. You’ve got company. Don’t be afraid. Step out from behind nuclear ambiguity and do what is needed now. There is no other choice. Yet, the reward for taking this brave step is respect – respect for telling the truth (out of necessity) and for emerging from behind the shadows of past policies, which clearly do not work in today’s environment.

Next Up On Cheesus’ Month Of Elul Viewing List: Christopher Hitchens
By Cheesus | Filed in Cheesus Speaks | No comments yet. It’s all about redemption this month…
Already you can feel a major tug of war building between the month of Elul and Ramadan. The WTC mosque is basically the match that lit the fire. And now, American power wanes in the distance of an almost forgotten history as Israel begins to come to terms with going it alone against Iran. And honestly, everyone knows what this means. It’s not about Iran or America’s unwillingness or inability or public indifference to doing anything about Iran. Rather it is about the rise of the Israeli superstate.
The signs have been everywhere warning of this. And you know full well that I, Cheesus, am in favor of this turn of events. It is common knowledge that the only nuclear power in the Middle East is and will remain Israel. This is the way things are for a reason, and everyone who understands the slightest bit of history knows that Jews have had enough of the violence and the hatred.
And here we are, watching as Christopher Hitchens, who arguably is the Jane Fonda of the Middle East. Always siding with Marxists and various and sundry other thugs and criminals is Hitchens’ basic claim to fame, aside from the fact that he is 1/32 Jewish or something like that. Here he is in The Atlantic taking both sides of the issue of a nuclear-armed Iran, as if there were two sides. Perhaps only someone like Hitchens is capable of arguing with himself about annihilation.
Let’s just say that this month of Elul, God has His hands full dealing with these souls. Right after Tony Judt passed on, here’s Hitchens – an equally disturbed and disease stricken individual – who despite the overt signs that are literally commanding them to correct their ways, just keep on going.
In case you haven’t noticed, the bottom line here at Cheesus of Nazareth is that we put forth the fundamental premise that the purist definition of what constitutes a Jew in the Alteneuland definition of Herzl is a modern state, hence the term altneu. Old traditions can be and should be molded into modern technology and sensibilities. Perhaps nothing is able to bring those who resist this movement to their sensibilities than with the threat of and/or the use of military might. And nothing makes the case for both military might and sensibilities better than nuclear weaponry coupled with position of complete ambiguity.
So far, this is the way modern history has shown us to be the correct choice, that is if one were interested in successfully understanding the world today and their place in it. Otherwise, it’s all a game of chance and hit or miss attempts at “getting it right”. The month of Elul is certainly getting off to an interesting start. There are lots of examples of those whose views run counter to the will of God, and who, despite their afflictions, continue to try their level best to tinker with it. God said that Jews are a stiffnecked people, however, God it seems has had enough of that particular character flaw.
On the other hand, there is redemption out there for those who want it. Perhaps Christopher Hitchens will get a reprieve.
